Awesome Optical Illusions
Next time someone tells you: "don't let your eyes deceive you", quietly glare at them and tell them to have a nice cup of shut the hell up. Then politely inform them that the eyes don't get deceived, but the brain does.
The brain is a funny old thing. Capable of so much: love, war, awful poetry and the ability to seemingly watch hours of crap television. Yet, generally, it’s excels in visual recognition. Show a computer a photo of a cow and then show it a photo of a blueberry muffin and it will be quite flummoxed. Yet humans excel at visual analysis. However, the brain can be quite fooled by sometimes by both the apparently simple and the deviously complex.
Optical illusions are a great example of the way our brain can be tricked, so let’s get the show started…
Warning: some of these illusions may make you feel a bit nauseous, some may alter your vision for a short while and others will just mess with your head.
Check out this image... tiles A and B are completely different, right? Wrong...

"Bullshit!" I hear you say... A and B tiles are COMPLETELY different! Well, duh, doofus, that's why it's an optical illusion. Your brain gets very confused with tonal differences when it bases its analysis on real world visual effects such as depth and shadows. Still don't believe me? Then check out the following image:

Another nice little way to trick the brain is to use aligned circle-like shapes. Check out this nifty illusion which gives a great impression of movement!
